Northern Ring Neck Snake
  • Most easily recognized by the gold ring around
    their neck
• Body is bluish-black in color
• Belly color ranges from yellow to red
  • Females lay 1-7 elongated white eggs (22-36 mm)
  • Live in rotten logs or brush piles
  • Many females will lay their eggs in the same log
  • Babies are 4-5 inches
• Found under logs and rocks in damp
woodland areas
  • Eats mostly Redbacked salamanders Also..slugs,
    earthworms, small frogs

Lake Erie Water Snake

Classic Lake Erie watersnake is solid grey and
patternless
However, they can exhibit some pattern




Feeds on non-game




Commonly found along rocky
shoreline of islands
Also frequents docks, lakeside
